  1. *Daily Dietary Recommendations for Australian Adults aged 19–60 years recommend 6–12 servings (men) or 4–9 servings (women) of bread and cereals, 5 servings of vegetables, 2 servings of fruit, 2 servings of dairy, 1 serving of lean meat and alternatives, 0–3 (men) or 0–2 1/2 (women) servings of extra foods. Participants consuming at least the lower value for breads and cereals and not exceeding the upper limit for extra foods were classified as meeting the recommendation. Participants classified as meeting the vegetable recommendation are consuming 4–5 serves/day. Note: P-values calculated using Chi square analysis with groups 4–6 combined so cell values were all > 5.
