Physical activity levels were categorized based on public health guidelines: low active (< 600 MET-mins/week), moderate active (600 < 1200) and high active (≥ 1200 MET-mins/week). Sedentary behaviour was categorized into: low, ≤ 3.5 h/day; moderate, 3.5 ≤ 5.5 h/day; high > 5.5 h/day. Models were adjusted for age, sex, ethnicity, smoking status, alcohol consumption, education, socioeconomic status, depressive symptoms, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and BMI. Mutual adjustments were made for physical activity, sedentary behaviour, loneliness and social isolation, when not included as an exposure
